Silver Predator hits high-grade silver in Yukon
Silver Predator (TSX: SPD) released a score of high-grade silver intercepts from its 2011 drilling program on the Plata project in the Yukon.
It was a humble pass of drills over the property – less than 3,000 metres into the ground over 17 drillholes – but it was nonetheless fruitful with consistent multi-metre intercepts showing silver mineralization in the hundreds of grams per tonne range.
The best hits came from the Etzel zone where Silver Predator collared seven drillholes. In one of the better intercepts Silver Predator cut 13 metres @ 150.99 g/t silver and 1.42 percent zinc. Accounting for much of the mineralized richness was a 1-metre bonanza-grade portion @ 1,655 g/t silver and 1.09 percent zinc.
In another drillhole Silver Predator hit 19 metres @ 86.55 g/t Ag and 1.38 percent zinc, including 1.3 metres @ 846.5 g/t Ag and 6.52 percent zinc.
Each of seven drillholes in the Etzel zone, spaced along a 150-metre-or-so strike, hit at least 100 g/t Ag over a metre. Depth-wise Silver Predator said it drilled up to 134 metres below surface.
On news of the drilling results there was minimal trading of Silver Predator shares as of presstime. – Mineweb
