Silver’s advance sets the pace for a broad move higher for metals

Silver for December delivery added $1.84, or 5.9%, to end at $32.95 an ounce.

Their gain Tuesday far outpaced that of other metals but after all, silver also “far outpaced gold in its downward [move] in the preceding few days,” said Christopher Ecclestone, a mining strategist at Hallgarten & Company LLC. For last week, gold prices saw a 3.5% decline, while silver posted a loss of 6.5%.
